dread question

Hello! I have somehow seen your pictures through being friends with Noa Rose and then stumbled across your blog! I have had dreads for about 2 months, I really admire your dread art and perhaps I can custom order just one extension? But my question is about coloring my dreads. Right before I dreaded my hair I died in with black henna, and it kind of turned my hair a little green at the end…not very flattering after a while and I REALLY miss my old hair color which is a dirty brownish blond…I’ve used an all natural dye in golden blonde and its kind of taken away the green aspect, but obviously my dreads are still fairly dark….Any suggestions? (I know henna leaves a wax residue that is hard to die over)

Thank you!

~Myrto

My suggestion would be to do a deep cleanse with almost boiling water and baking soda. Boil water in a big pot, then let it cool just a bit. Add some baking soda to the pot, and then soak your dreads in it.

This should get the residue out enough for you to be able to try a re-dye of a more natural color.
I hope this helps! And it was nice to meet you on facebook, thanks for finding me!
